Serving The Needs Of Middle East Martial Artists
Brazillian Ju-jitsu is fast becoming the most popular combat sport around the world. It is a martial art and a self defense system that focuses on grappling and ground fighting. It was created from a form of Kodokan Judo - specically the ground fighting aspects of Ne-Waza which were taught to the founder Carlos Gracie himself - by master Mitsuyo Maeda. BJJ is all about the smaller, weaker person successfully defending against a bigger, stronger assailant using leverage and technique. In Qatar BJJ was introduced to local nationals and foreign workers about 5 years ago. Many of the orignal "founding fathers" are now brown belts. The commited few look set to become black belts in the near future.
